Interacting particles in an activity landscape

چکیده
We study interacting active Brownian particles (ABPs) with a space-dependent swim velocity via simulation and theory. find that, although an equation of state exists, mechanical equilibrium does not apply to ABPs in activity landscapes. The pressure difference originates the flux polar order gradient across interface between regions different activity. In contrast motility-induced phase separation homogeneous velocity, critical point exist for active-passive patch system, which continuously splits into dense dilute increasing However, if global density is so high that all can be packed onto inactive patch, then MIPS-like behavior restored balanced again.

Interacting Particles on Finite
There is a well-established topic \interacting particle systems", treated in the books by Griieath 14], Liggett 17], and Durrett 11], which studies diierent models for particles on the innnite lattice Z d. All these models make sense, but mostly have not been systematically studied, in the context of nite graphs. Some of these models { the voter model, the antivoter model, and the exclusion pro...
متن کاملSuperweakly interacting massive particles.
We investigate a new class of dark matter: superweakly interacting massive particles (super-WIMPs). As with conventional WIMPs, super-WIMPs appear in well motivated particle theories with naturally the correct relic density. In contrast to WIMPs, however, super-WIMPs are impossible to detect in all conventional dark matter searches. We consider the concrete examples of gravitino and graviton co...

Flocking, swarming, aggregation there is a multitude of actual real-life phenomena that from the mathematical point of view can be interpreted as one of these concepts. The mathematical description of collective dynamics of self-propelled agents with nonlocal interaction originates from one of the basic equations of kinetic theory – Vlasov’s equation from 1938. Recently it was noted that such m...
متن کاملRatchet transport of interacting particles.
We study analytically and numerically the ratchet transport of interacting particles induced by a monochromatic driving in asymmetric two-dimensional structures. The ratchet flow is preserved in the limit of strong interactions and can become even stronger compared to the noninteracting case. The developed kinetic theory gives a good description of these two limiting regimes. The numerical data...
متن کاملPersistent entanglement in arrays of interacting particles.
We study the entanglement properties of a class of N-qubit quantum states that are generated in arrays of qubits with an Ising-type interaction. These states contain a large amount of entanglement as given by their Schmidt measure. They also have a high persistency of entanglement which means that approximately N/2 qubits have to be measured to disentangle the state. These states can be regarde...
